Love for chocolate? Well I do for sure.... But I enjoy it even more if my chocolate fix is made of healthy ingredients since nutrition also affects your mood. In this blog I share one of my favorite smoothie recipes that also fits into a yoga lifestyle. Enjoy!
Healthy chocolate fix
One of my favorite smoothies is this one with avocado and raw cacao. I make it as a power boost for the evenings that I am teaching yoga or as healthy dessert to fix my chocolate cravings. For the dessert variation I use less coconut water than for the smoothie power boost. So if the consistency is too thick for you, just add some more coconut water.
Besides that this smoothie makes me just as happy as my favorite chocolate bar, this smoothie also contains a lot of electrolytes (like potassium and magnesium), good-quality protein and zinc (that improves the absorbability of other vitamins and minerals). Maybe that’s why my hot yogi friends also seem to love it…
Blend the following ingredients to a smooth creamy cacao dream
- 1 avocado
- 1 banana
- 200 ml coconut milk
- 300 à 600 ml coconut water
- +/- 3 tablespoons raw cacao
- +/- 1 tablespoon maca
- +/- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
